Understand how fire starts and develops (elements of combustion, classifications of fire, heat transmission).
Identify workplace fire hazards and take preventative action.
Take correct actions in the event of a fire emergency.
Select and safely use the right fire extinguisher for different types of fire.
Recognise legal requirements and responsibilities under fire safety legislation.
Carry out a basic fire risk assessment and workplace fire inspection.
Understand fire safety arrangements, escape plans, and signage.
Perform the role of a Fire Warden, including day-to-day duties and emergency responsibilities.
Assist with safe evacuation and communicate effectively with the Person in Charge (PIC) and emergency services.
