Kersten Training Academy is dedicated at supporting Suriname’s on-and offshore Oil & Gas Industry. Kersten Training Academy offers courses in Basic Safety and Emergency Response and Standards for various technical roles on-and offshore at the training facilities located at Sir Winston Churchillweg 203. Kersten Training Academy is committed to minimize the impact of its activities on the environment at all times. 

In fulfilling its responsibilities, Kersten Training Academy will:

  • Comply with all applicable national and international environment laws, regulations and recognized standards;
  • Set short and long term goals and specific responsibilities in the management of the environment;
  • Develop Environmental policies, procedures and guidelines;
  • Minimize waste by evaluating the environmental performance of the operations and ensuring they are as efficient as possible;
  • Minimize toxic emissions and discharges arising from its activities;
  • Dispose waste in a safe and reasonable manner;
  • Provide information, instruction, training and supervision to ensure that staff/ learners/contractors/visitors are aware of the environmental impacts of their jobs and tasks;
  • Actively promote recycling both internally and amongst its suppliers/contractors;
  • Encourage to report environmental incidents;
  • Inform all suppliers of the requirements to comply with its environmental policy when providing goods and services;
  • Periodically review environmental issues at the highest level within its organization;
  • Review the policy and its effectiveness on an annual basis.

  • Set short and long term goals and specific responsibilities in the management of health and safety;
  • Develop H&S policies, procedures and guidelines;
  • Ensure all staff understand and take responsibility for the health and safety process in each program area;
  • Provide information, instruction, training and supervision to ensure that staff/ learners/contractors/visitors are aware of:
    • Safe work practices
    • Hazard identification, risk assessment and risk control
    • Health and safety legislation, regulations and recognized standards
    • Emergency response procedures
    • Any risks to health and safety in their work environment
    • Incident/accident reporting and investigation
    • Employee Competence Assurance and Training
    • Provide safe working conditions and equipment;
  • Monitor and review the implementation of and compliance with health & safety policies for continual improvement on an annual basis.

To ensure that Kersten Training Academy meets the requirements of the OPITO Standards and the needs and expectations of its clients, Kersten Training Academy’s management team and employees regularly review namely relevant legislation, standards and codes of practice that affect its training activities. Furthermore, Kersten Training Academy is committed to keep investing in the most up to date and safe equipment, skilled and competent course leaders to ultimately deliver effective training programs.

In fulfilling its responsibilities, Kersten Training Academy will:

  • Comply with all OPITO Standards and regulatory requirements, Company legislation and our stakeholders commitments to which CORFA subscribes;
  • Ensure that the Management Team shall provide all the physical resources, processes and systems of work in accordance with OPITO’s criteria for Centre approval;
  • Hold all employees and contractors at all levels accountable to deliver safe and effective training according to the OPITO Standards by providing such information, instructions and training as necessary;
  • Employ an Integrated Management System which provides the framework to establish and continuously review the quality of training in preparation for regular audits of OPITO courses.
  • Ensure that Senior Management or their designate(s) attend the Training Providers Association Group meetings and minutes, for which these meetings and minutes are available and accessible to all training staff for discussion at monthly safety meetings.
  • Maintain adequate training facilities and complete audit arrangements to enable OPITO delegates and representatives to raise non-conformances related to the training sessions delivered.
  • Consult and request participation of workers into development, planning, implementation, performance evaluation and actions for continuous improvement of all the performance processes in all matters relating to the OPITO approval.

Kersten Corporate Facilities N.V. (CORFA) is dedicated to supporting Suriname’s on- and offshore Energy   Industry. CORFA offers courses in Basic Safety, Emergency Response and Standards for various technical roles (on- and offshore) at its training facilities located at Sir Winston Churchillweg plot 203.

CORFA’s mission, goals and objectives are directed towards achieving a high level of customer satisfaction. 
This will be achieved through the commitment and dedication of all Staff to maintain and continuously improve service quality based on the following principles:

  • CORFA shall provide the highest quality training by continuously striving to improve standards and performance;
  • CORFA is committed to meet the needs of all course participants by providing excellent learning opportunities and support by taking into account the following:
    • Assess the quality of the participant and customer experience by monitoring, reviewing and continuously improving the learning material where applicable, and the delivery methods as required;
    • Set and develop standards and targets for all areas of activity and implement processes whereby these can be effectively monitored;
    • Provide a platform to allow our course participants and stakeholders to express their views on the training services, and have these recorded and responded to in a timely manner;
    • Maintain conditions in which course participants, other customers, stakeholders and Staff are treated solely on the basis of their merits, abilities and potential, regardless of other irrelevancies as amplified in the CORFA’s Equal Opportunity Policy;
    • Promote the concept of equal opportunity in all training progams, assessments and support;
    • Accommodate course participants with special needs where applicable with no compromise to product quality, service delivery and set standards;
    • Offer belated training to course participants whose completion may be affected by illness or work;
    • Maintain a work ethic that is self-critical, honest and transparent;
    • Establish a system to evaluate its strengths and weaknesses and to respond in a timely and positive manner.

 

CORFA is dedicated to maintain its Quality Management System to ensure continuous improvement and to   achieve the above objectives by reviewing the effectiveness of this policy annually.
