IMIST online is an interactive e-Learning training program that works by assessing the safety knowledge of an oil and gas worker during a random sequence of assessment questions. At the end of this assessment, which is completed under time-bound conditions, the program will automatically and dynamically assemble a unique course for each individual based on their knowledge gaps identified in the pre-assessment.
The course was designed to meet the core competence and safety training requirements that are relative to all the tropical warm water operating areas of the offshore oil and gas Industry. Tropical warm water operating areas are defined as those areas within the geographical domain of the Tropic of Cancer and the Tropic of Capricorn; however, areas out with this domain with a consistent water temperature in excess of 590 F./150 C. may also be included.
This course is designed to meet the initial offshore safety and emergency response training requirements for personnel new (or returning) to the offshore oil and gas industry who will be supplied with a compressed air emergency breathing system (CA-EBS) during offshore helicopter travel.
